Welcome to the Plant-A-Row for the Hungry (PAR) website of Josephine County, Oregon!
What is PAR? Simply put, it is people helping people – a national grassroots program encouraging communities to fight hunger through donations of surplus garden produce to local agencies like soup kitchens, food banks, and others. From its 1995 humble beginnings by one garden writer in Alaska, the effort has expanded across the country, and counts more 27,000 volunteers.
Funded by the Garden Writers Association Foundation, endorsements come from organizations including Master Gardeners, the National Gardening Association and the American Community Gardening Association, plus nurseries and numerous garden suppliers
